Generation NXT Supports Ronald McDonald House NY
Where: Tao Downtown, 92 9th Avenue
When: Thursday of NYC Fashion Week, February 16th from 8-11 PM (VIP Dinner starts at 6:30 pm at Tao restaurant).
Who: Generation NXT is a group of young professionals who come together once a year to organize and host a fundraiser on behalf of an elected non-for-profit charity. Each year, we evaluate and select different charitable organizations that we find to be sound, efficient, and for which our funds and efforts will have maximum impact. We then organize, promote, and host exciting and sophisticated philanthropic social events for these causes with a focus on our target demographic (ourselves and our peers). This year we have decided to donate our time and efforts to host an event in honor of the Ronald McDonald House NY (located on 73rd between 1st and York Ave.), an organization that provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families. This fantastic cause allows families to live in a strong, supportive, and caring environment during an immensely stressful time for children and parents alike.
Goal: Our goal is to raise $250k which will assist the RMHNY in their current renovation of their space. The goal of the renovation is twofold: to update the systems in the house (which were original to the 27 year old facility and in dire need of updating), and to transform bedrooms, kitchen areas, laundry areas and several common areas in the House to provide families with a more normal, homelike experience.
